Vince Hall

Board Member

Vince Hall is Vice President of External Affairs at Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization. The Feeding America network of food banks, pantries and meal programs serve virtually every community in the United States — 40 million people, including 12 million children and 7 million seniors. He is the former CEO of Feeding San Diego, San Diego County’s leading hunger relief agency, and a member of Feeding America.

Vince joined Free to Thrive because legal rights are ineffective without legal access. California now has one of the most significant vacatur statutes in the nation and having helped create that law, Free to Thrive’s inspirational President & Managing Attorney, Jamie Beck, founded this organization to make real the promise of this law for survivors everywhere.

Vince has extensive nonprofit and public sector management experience, including serving for seven years as Vice President of Public Affairs & Communications for Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest and serving as Executive Director for Future of California Elections, a statewide nonprofit organization working to modernize California’s election system to expand participation to underrepresented and underserved populations.

Vince’s public sector experience spans local, state, and federal government roles, including serving as Staff Director for Governor Gray Davis. He also served as a lecturer at San Diego State University and his previous community involvement included serving on the San Diego Community College District Trustee Advisory Council, the San Diego Unified School District Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, and the board of the National Conflict Resolution Center.

Vince earned a law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from San Diego State University. He lives in downtown San Diego and has an adult daughter who lives in San Francisco. Outside of work and community service, he is passionate about all aspects of aviation, space exploration, and 20th-century history - especially when it involves airplanes or rockets.
