Randy K. Jones

Randy joined the Free to Thrive board because of his strong support of the organization’s mission of empowering the survivors of human trafficking.  Throughout his life, Randy has lived a life of service with the motto:  “If I can help somebody, as I pass along, then my living shall not be in vain.” 

Randy K. Jones is a nationally recognized trial attorney and civil litigator at the Mintz Law Firm in San Diego, CA. With more than three decades of experience, he has tried over a hundred cases to jury verdict in federal and state courts. He specializes in complex business disputes, internal investigations, and white-collar defense matters. 

Mr. Jones represents major public and private companies, executives and individuals in federal and state investigations including internal corporate investigations, anti-bribery allegations, government contract fraud, healthcare fraud, securities fraud, compliance, white-collar crime and sports law matters.

Prior to joining Mintz, he served as a federal prosecutor for almost 30 years where he was responsible for the investigation, management, and prosecution of numerous cases involving fraud and financial crime schemes, complex criminal conspiracies, immigration, narcotics, and violent crime matters.

Mr. Jones is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received both his undergraduate and law degrees.

Mr. Jones, the youngest of ten children and native of North Carolina, has been active in the San Diego community for almost forty years.  He has served in various major leadership capacities on the board of directors of numerous state, local and national civic, nonprofit and law related organizations and institutions, including the National Bar Association, National CASA/GAL Association for Children, Francis Parker School, and the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA.
