Francis Pickford

Treasurer

Francis Pickford joined Free to Thrive's board out of a desire to serve organizations that empower and provide opportunities to people who need and lack access to basic services. He was introduced to Free to Thrive close to its inception and was initially stricken by the significance of the human trafficking issue in our local San Diego region. After getting involved and hearing more about the mission, he decided to join the board. 

Francis grew up in the Washington DC suburbs and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1998 with a degree in accounting. Francis is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has over 24 years of experience in nonprofit finance, accounting, and business operations and has worked in public accounting, worked as a consultant, and led the finance and accounting operations at several nonprofit organizations. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest, the nation's second-largest Planned Parenthood affiliate. He hopes to use his background and experience to ensure that Free to Thrive grows to meet the community's demands in a fiscally prudent way. 

Francis loves cooking anything and everything on the New York Times cooking page, traveling locally and overseas, cycling and yoga.
